[I first heard of Ocean Vuong during a writing group where we read "Someday I'll Love Ocean Vuong". After reading that, I watched some video interviews and was so inspired by how he talks about his family and what it means to be an Asian American artist. Here are some my favorite poems and lines from Nigh sky with exit wounds.]
Poems:
"But only a mother can walk with the weight of a second beating heart."
"Don't we touch each other just to prove we are still here?"
Untitled (Blue, Green, and Brown): oil on canvas: Mark Rothko: 1952
